FAQs

We are so excited to celebrate with you on July 31, 2026. To help you plan, we have answered the questions we hear most often below, from when to arrive to what to wear to how to get to and from the vineyard. If you do not see what you are looking for, please reach out and we will fill in the gap.
Question

What time does the ceremony start, and when should I arrive?

Answer

The ceremony begins at 4:30 PM on Friday, July 31, 2026. Please plan to arrive by 4:00 PM so we can begin on time. Doors open at 4:00 PM.

Question

Is the ceremony indoor or outdoor?

Answer

Outdoor. We are getting married in the vineyard at Rancho Guejito, and the reception is also outdoors at the venue. Plan for the full evening to be al fresco.

Question

Where do I park?

Answer

Parking is available on-site at Rancho Guejito at no charge. Follow signs once you arrive at 17224 San Pasqual Valley Road, Escondido. The road into the venue is rural and the pathways and parking areas are uneven, so please drive carefully and wear shoes you can walk in comfortably.

Question

What's the weather like in San Pasqual in late July?

Answer

Hot and dry during the day, comfortable in the evening. Expect afternoon temperatures in the high 80s to mid 90s, cooling into the 70s after sunset. Rain in late July is extremely unlikely. Two practical tips: (1) the ceremony is outdoors in full late-afternoon sun, so dress in breathable fabrics and consider sunglasses, and (2) bring a light layer for after sunset, as San Pasqual Valley nights cool down quickly.

Question

What time does the reception end?

Answer

The reception ends at 10:00 PM, and all guests need to be off the property by 11:00 PM per the venue. Please plan your transportation home accordingly.

Question

What's the dress code?

Answer

Garden Party / Vineyard Formal. Think polished and elevated for an outdoor vineyard setting. Suits and sport coats with dress shirts work well; dresses, jumpsuits, or coordinated separates are great. We recommend avoiding stiletto heels, since the ceremony and cocktail areas are on grass and uneven terrain, and stark white attire. Florals, soft tones, and warm earth colors all fit beautifully.

Question

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

Yes. We will have beer, wine, champagne, and seltzers available throughout the evening, with signature cocktails available in the reception area. Non-alcoholic options will also be available. Last call is 10:00 PM.

Question

Which airport should I fly into?

Answer

San Diego International Airport (SAN) is the closest, roughly 45 minutes from the venue. For guests coming from the Los Angeles area, John Wayne Airport (SNA) and Ontario International (ONT) are also reasonable options if you would prefer to drive down. We recommend renting a car regardless of which airport you choose.

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

We have put together a list of recommended hotels with reserved room blocks on the Travel page. Book early. Late July is peak season in San Diego County and rooms fill up.

Question

What is there to do in the area while we are in town?

Answer

San Diego County has plenty to offer if you are making a long weekend of it. A few of our favorites: Beaches: Carlsbad State Beach, La Jolla Cove, Coronado Beach Wine and beer: Local wineries throughout North County, Stone Brewing in Escondido, and breweries in Carlsbad and Vista Family-friendly: San Diego Zoo Safari Park (just minutes from the venue), Legoland California in Carlsbad, Birch Aquarium at Scripps in La Jolla Food: Old Town for Mexican, Little Italy in downtown San Diego, Encinitas for the surf-town vibe Outdoors: Torrey Pines State Reserve, Daley Ranch in Escondido, Anza-Borrego Desert if you want a day trip More specific recommendations are on the Travel page.

Question

What kind of food will be served?

Answer

Wood-fired pizza, served buffet style. We are keeping the food fun, casual, and shareable to match the vineyard setting. There will be multiple varieties available, including vegetarian options, plus sides and salads. The DJ will release tables to the buffet a few at a time so the line stays manageable. Come hungry.

Question

Will there be dessert?

Answer

Yes. We will have a cutting cake and a sheet cake from The Cake Atelier, plus gelato from Esco Gelato. Guests can choose between cake or gelato.

Question

I have a dietary restriction or allergy. What should I do?

Answer

Please let us know in your RSVP. We will make sure your meal works for you. There will be vegetarian options on the menu, and we are confirming gluten-free options with the vendor. We will update this page once we have details.

Question

Will there be food for kids?

Answer

Yes. The pizza truck works well for younger guests, and we will have plenty of variety to choose from. Gelato is a hit at every age.

Question

Are you registered anywhere?

Answer

Yes. Our registry is on Zola, and you can browse it on the Registry page of this site. We have included a mix of household items and a honeymoon fund, so there should be something for every budget. Please know that your presence at our wedding is the only gift we truly need.

Question

Can I ship gifts ahead of the wedding?

Answer

Yes, and we would appreciate it. To keep things simple at the venue, please ship gifts to our home rather than bringing them to Rancho Guejito: Matt Odgers and Maddie Rowe 6983 Blue Orchid Lane Carlsbad, CA 92011 If you would rather bring a card on the day of, we will have a card box at the reception.
