Join us for the 100-mile (one way) journey to Rowena's quirky hometown, with options to return in the mid-afternoon and later in the evening. We will pick up groups from hotels starting at 9:00 am for the 1.5 hour one-way trip. We'll stop in Tombstone for a walk through the OK Corral and some other famous photo ops (but I promise you, Bisbee is much more interesting!) Both local and out of town folks are welcome, though transportation priority will be given to out of town guests. Folks with their own transportation are welcome to come and meet up with us, and can offer transport to others if desired. Cool info: Bisbee was one of the most important copper mines in the world. Tour the underground mine! https://www.copperqueenmine.com/ Amazing, indie music festival this weekend. Lucky us! https://sideponyexpressmusicfestival.com/ USA Today loves BZB. https://10best.usatoday.com/awards/bisbee-arizona/

This is the first place Rowena took Eric when he visited her in Tucson. Yeah, it's that special!
Located 40 minutes west of town, through the Tucson mountains and the Saguaro vistas, the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum is an award-winning, amazing nature center that will make you fall in love with the Sonoran Desert and its creatures, from snakes to sting rays to mountain lions. PLEASE NOTE: You will be responsible for the admission price of $29.95. The Desert Museum is 21 acres, mostly outdoors. Be prepared for lotsa walking in bright sunlight. As with any event in the desert, bring sun protection, layered clothing, and water. There are several cafes and coffee shops around the grounds, but folks are welcome to bring their own snacks. Fun Fact: In 2024, the Desert Museum was awarded the National Medal for Museum and Library Service. (Bisbee's Copper Queen Library was also awarded that honor!) https://www.kgun9.com/news/local-news/desert-museum-bisbee-library-awarded-highest-national-honor-for-service-in-the-community Sorry that these links aren't live, Zola is lame!
6:00 pm - 11:00 pm
Check back to this event for notes on where we will gather on the day of the event to prepare our costumes and makeup.
The All Souls Procession is a uniquely Tucson event. Inspired by Dia de los Muertos, the Procession honors departed friends and family while celebrating life & love in the desert. I think it's the largest non-motorized parade in the country. We will join the Procession to honor our parents and others who have passed. We warmly invite you to join us! Dress up, dress down, bring photographs, momentos, notes, memories, or yourself. We will have some makeup to share but you are encouraged to bring whatever you have. Check out the website: https://allsoulsprocession.org/ The Procession route is a little less than a mile. It begins on Grande Avenue south of Speedway Blvd, and marches south on Grande to Congress St, then left to the Mercado District. We will likely gather around 3:30 at one of the wedding houses, then park at one of the street car stops to take the street car to the event. There will be options for folks who would not like to walk, but would like to sit and witness.
4:00 pm - 10:30 pm
This event is black tie optional. Wear clothes you love and dress for temperate weather, but bring a wrap or jacket to keep warm when the sun goes down, as this event will be mostly outside.
Please arrive at 4:00 pm for a 4:30 ceremony. We are delighted to share dinner, cocktails, and dancing with you on our special day. Thank you for joining us!
