How We Met

It was love at first sight. Alexandra fell in love with Gus (then Josh’s baby, the sweetest shar-pei 🐾, who later became Josh AND Alexandra’s baby) the moment she saw him in the elevator of their apartment building. Enamored by his wrinkly face and obvious sweetness, Gus captured her heart. If only she had looked up to see his owner, the couple’s “meet-cute” could have started a day earlier. As Alexandra said goodbye to Gus and walked off the elevator, she wasn’t the only one who fell in love. Later that day Josh told his dad, Barry, he just saw the girl he was going to marry. Alexandra had known two of Josh’s friends who also happened to live in the building. The next day while out with Josh, his friend Ilter said he had a girl for Josh. He proceeded to tell Josh that the girl lived in their building, had red hair and was Jewish. Josh immediately knew she was the girl from the elevator. Later that evening they all met at Pacific Dining Car for dessert. The three of them got a booth and ordered tons of amazing food. As Josh walked toward Alexandra to introduce himself the two locked eyes and she knew she had met the love of her life. The three of them spent hours talking and eating. At the end of the evening Josh made a move by asking Alexandra to go to Soul Cycle (something she mentioned she enjoyed doing). He proceeded to tell her that he cycled with his sister and dad all the time back in Atlanta. Alexandra said she was going the next morning and Josh said he would join.

How We Virtually Met

Alexandra, clearly so wrapped up in her time with Josh, had mistaken the day of the class and texted Josh to move it to Sunday. The following morning, Alexandra’s friend Tara called. Alexandra told Tara that she had met a guy last night that she really liked. Tara begged Alexandra to send her a picture of him and Alexandra proceeded to send a screenshot of Josh’s Facebook profile picture. After a few minutes, Alexandra wondered why she had not received a response. Horrified... her heart sank as she realized she had sent the screenshot to Josh! After a failed cover-up and panic, Josh responded asking Alexandra if she wanted to grab dessert that night. Thinking that her excuse worked, Alexandra agreed to dessert. Josh, Alexandra and Gus took a walk and grabbed ice cream with no mention of the embarrassing text. It was only as they approached the building that Josh called Alexandra out on her text. Alexandra turned bright red as Josh proceeded to ask if she was sending it to a friend because she really liked him. She was blushing the rest of the evening… and has been ever since. We are deeply saddened to say that Gus passed on November 29th. Truly the sweetest boy, Gus made this day possible and has always been there for us. He will forever be in our hearts. 🐾

Our Wedding
