We met through a dating site, and it was practically love at first sight. Our first date was at Park Lane Tavern in Virginia Beach where we both enjoyed Golden Monkey Ale, I had a salmon filet, and he had a Monte Cristo. It was a night full of laughter and a lot of smiling. We really didn't want it to end, but the ending was just as great as the rest of the night. It ended with a sweet kiss and a "Let me know when you get home."
The first time he asked me to marry him, it was on our way home from a Superbowl party at our friend's house. He looked me right in the eye and told me he couldn't imagine his life without me. My response was to ask him if that was a proposal, and Matt said "Yeah, it was." We spent the next week or so looking for the perfect ring, which we obviously ended up finding. A month to the day later, he took me out to get my nails done, get a nice dress from my old house, and once I was done up (hair and makeup) he took me out to a hibachi steakhouse for dinner. It was here that he got down on one knee and made it official.
