Things to do

Trentham Gardens

Stone Road, Trentham, England ST4 8JG, United Kingdom

We love visiting Trentham Gardens in the spring! There is an entry fee for the gardens. If you don't want to pay this, the shopping village, garden centre and delicious restaurants are enough for a lovely day out Fun fact: Rowan used to work here while she was studying for her Master's Degree.

Ramblers Retreat

Red Road, Alton, England ST10 4BU, United Kingdom

Comfort food and homemade cakes in a cosy, country tearoom housed in 19th-century lodge with garden. As the name suggests, it is situated on many walking routes in the Alton area. We visited midway through our hike through Hawksmoor (not recommended, as we were struggling to start walking again after all the yummy food. Visting after the hike is probably for the best!)

Long Rest

10 Cheapside, Hanley, England ST1 1HE, United Kingdom

Fab boardgame cafe. If you know Nathan, you've probably already been!

Gladstone Pottery Museum

Uttoxeter Road, Longton, England ST3 1PQ, United Kingdom

Learn about Stoke's history & paint your own pottery.

Emma Bridgewater Factory

Lichfield Street, Hanley, England ST1 3EJ, United Kingdom

Tour the factory, decorting pottery, browse the seconds shop and finish day in the cafe! (Tour and decorating require booking)

Wetley Moor Alpacas

Eaves Lane, Werrington, England ST2 8LY, United Kingdom

Nothing like an Alpaca walk to get you in the mood for a wedding.
