We met through a mutual friend that I had gone to high school with. That friend went on to become Rowan's college roommate. He told us about each other, thinking we could be a good match, which led to us both internet stalking each other. We hung out briefly but didn't actually get together.
After disconnecting for about a year, we ended up reconnecting. I truly think the stars aligned for us. About a month before our reconnecting, I had done an online fortune teller out of boredom. Scarily enough, it told me that my soulmate would enter my life by the end of summer, and he would be a Taurus whom I previously had a connection with. I'm thinking "Yeah, riggghhhttt." Well.. the end of July I got a message from Rowan. The world works in weird ways.
Dating during covid was weird. Like really weird. We didn't get to go on traditional dates or go out to the movies like most couples before covid did. It was a weird time when everyone was afraid of getting sick, so we started living with each other pretty quickly. That way we could see each other, and not worry about contaminating another household. It was a challenge living together after only dating a couple of months, but it allowed us to cherish time with each other in a weird world, and for that were thankful.
It was no surprise when we got engaged. I think we knew we would marry each other within the first 6 months. Getting the ring was just to seal the deal. Rowan set up a beautiful indoor picnic with my favorite wine, and we reminisced about our time together and he asked me to be his wife. Then my brother, Anthony, walked into the room eating a block of cheese. Pretty perfect if you ask me.
We'd been engaged for a while now, and Rowan wanted to update my ring to something a bit bigger now that we could afford it. With that, came another proposal. On Christmas Eve, while doing presents, Anthony had set up a scavenger hunt throughout the house, leading me to different rooms with riddles. I had no idea it was a new proposal, I had thought Anthony was just being weird. The last riddle simply told me to look at Rowan, and when I did he proposed with a brand new ring. It seems we're destined to do everything twice!
Currently, 2024 is treating us well. Our plans are to move our little family (Us, our 2 cats (Squid & Goose), and our Lizard (Lloris)) To a family home where we can set down our roots and grow together even more. After being settled, we'll be getting married and officially becoming newlyweds. Thank you all for joining us for the ride.
