Joseph was born in Chicago, raised in Madison, and has shared a home with Helen in both places. He is fascinated by the processes of human culture and studied anthropology at Lawrence University. He is a lover of games and stories.

Helen is proud and delighted to be marrying Joseph. In addition to wedding planning, Helen is writing her dissertation to earn a PhD in Disability Studies at the University of Illinois Chicago and working full-time as the Program Coordinator for the Disability Cultural Center at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She loves dancing, Diet Coke, snail mail, stickers, and soap operas.

Alex is Joseph's twin brother. He's a cook and a writer. He loves his wife and three cats.

John is Helen's sibling, an actuary, and the reason the Rottiers play so many board games.

Charlie is Joseph's sister and the middle Wetzel sibling. She is a multidisciplinary artist and enjoys, but is very bad at, solving New York Times crosswords.

Mary is Helen's younger sister and childhood roommate. Now Mary works as a nurse and lives down the road from Helen and Joseph.

Naomi is Joseph's loud and colorful younger sister. She is an Eagle Scout, a bartender, and is starting her freshman year of college this fall.

Mike is Helen's younger brother and a lover of sports, majoring in sports journalism at UW-Whitewater.
Gwenna Wetzel

Gwenna is Joseph's sister and the youngest Wetzel sibling. She is a senior in high school and competes in various styles of dance with Madison Professional Dance Center.

Joe is Helen's brother and the youngest Rottier sibling. He is a sophomore in high school who loves Dungeons and Dragons and is a three-sport athlete (volleyball, basketball, tennis).
