FAQs

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We love your kids but unfortunately cannot accommodate them at the wedding. The only children invited to the wedding and reception are in the wedding party.

Question

What does formal attire mean?

Answer

Typically, formal attire means suits and ties and ankle or floor length gowns. We feel that there are so few occasions in life where we get to dress up and feel fancy and we want our wedding to be one of them. This is our recommendation but we want everyone to feel comfortable and like their best self. If you have questions, please feel free to get in touch with either of us.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

The Langham offers valet parking. We highly recommend using a rideshare service if you plan on drinking.

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

November in Los Angeles can be a bit of a mixed bag. We recommend you check weather apps prior to the weekend. That being said, the temperature range is usually in the 60s-70s during the day and will dip into the 50s and possibly cooler at night. Our ceremony and cocktail hour will be outside and the reception will be inside. We will have heaters but feel free to bring something to cover up with in case you are cold outdoors!

Question

Between Emily and Dan, who has the best hair?

Answer

This a trick question. The answer is obviously Emily.

Question

Why did you choose to get married at the Langham?

Answer

The Langham is an iconic and historic property in Los Angeles (learn more here: https://www.langhamhotels.com/en/the-langham/los-angeles/discover/our-history/). We love the grounds and were delighted to learn that the garden where we will be married was designed by the same landscape architect as the Huntington Gardens, where we got engaged. Our reception will be in the Viennese Ballroom, named for the chandeliers that came from Vienna. Vienna is a very special place for Emily's grandparents, Milton and Jackie, who visited frequently. As they will be unable to attend the wedding, it is meaningful to feel like we can honor them in this small way. The hotel is stunning and offers wonderful amenities. We see it as a place we can continue to return to in our future as a family. We hope many of you will choose to stay there and experience it for our wedding weekend.
