Date #2: My ideal 1st date has always been a baseball game. Josh fulfilled it! It was freezing & we didn't care because conversation was so good! Looking back, I knew I would marry him after this!

Summer at Kanakuk came quick. Josh worked at K-2, me at K-West, so we worked hard to find small windows of time to continue to figure out if this was going to work!

A highlight of dating for me was seeing Josh not just care about pursuing me, but also seeing him care to know those I love! We're excited to invite people in & bring people with us for a lifetime!

This was our "Branson Coming Out Party!" I was Josh's date to a friend's wedding June 13th. We moved to Kamp right after our 1st date, so we hadn't been out publicly yet. We had an absolute blast!

Covid reared it's head mid-summer, & we got creative in our pursuit! Working separate camps meant we ended the summer social distancing! Creativity brought clarity we were committed to making it work!

Hometown tours post summer! First stop: Oklahoma!

Next stop: Indiana! Seeing our homes, time with families, walking through past seasons of life & countless hours of road trip time was critical coming off a summer ending in distance due to Covid.

Josh's birthday is Sept. the 5th, but my students moved in the 4th. This was our first holiday to celebrate. I hosted his b-day party Sept. 3rd w/ a pickle-ball tourney & dessert! Easy to celebrate!

Off to the races through the fall with the Kanakuk Institute and Link Year! We ran hard in our lanes while also finding ways to overlap and serve together!

Another key road trip end of September to friend's wedding & to connect with friends in Texas! I knew the direction we were heading and simply wanted my friends to know him before we got there!

GO POKES! Josh is OSU's newest fan after a trip to Homecoming! Life just kept getting more and more real as weeks went by. Honest yet hard, challenging yet laughter filled moments solidified us.

Sunday's after church became our time to really connect during the middle of basketball season and everything else going on. Some of our sweetest moments were and still are during outdoor adventures!

Josh spent Thanksgiving with my family in Branson! We took Rother family photos & a friend snapped this to test lighting! The night before this, we unintentionally said "I love you"...ask us about it!

Dec. 19th: The last photo taken before we were engaged! If you read our story, this was the Christmas-themed date. We'd just finished playing Bananagrams & he had 4 lettered tiles in his pocket!

People ask if I knew it was coming. Functionally I had no idea. Internally, I was prepared & knew this was the next right step. My journal 4 days prior: "I'm content, & I think Sunday's the day."
