Matron of Honor
Hilary was forced to accept me into her life when I was born. Though she did her best to let me know I was an unwelcome presence by trying to take the crib back and telling me I was adopted. 33 years later I don't know where I'd be without my big sister.
Best Man
Rick and Dan started their beautiful friendship as coworkers for the Massachusetts Bay Commuter Rail, where they learned unvaluable skills and mainly took turns napping. Eventually living together in the public-health crises that was 9 Sewall, they shared in numerous other activities. From taking board games far too seriously, to Dan firing Rick from concrete canoe for mocking The Management, and morning tandem bicycle rides in New Orleans while obviously requiring mild medical attention. Once an Adequate Boy, Dan has become a Best Man, largely due to his wife, Katie, and her "Why Dan should be Rick's Best Man" PowerPoint presentation.
Bridesmaid
Our friendship was formed on the school bus and cemented over the years. Nicholle and I spent our younger years popping in and out of each others houses and roaming our neighborhood. We've kept close to this day despite having not lived within 1000 miles of each other in over 10 years
Groomsman
Rick met Matt on the orientation tour for Northeastern, and haven't been able to shake each other since. They shared a room in 9 Sewall and further bonded over their mutual disdain for roommates. Even though his wife, Jackie, broke up their multi-year long Facebook relationship, they've remained close. Close enough, that Matt couldn't bear being a coast away and chased Rick to California.
Bridesmaid
Christina was one of the first people I met in college and was actually instrumental in Rick's and I meeting. She put up with a lot from all of us but her advice and friendship over the years has always meant so much to me
Groomsman
Rick married John on a beautiful afternoon in July, that was magical for both of them, and also for John's wife, Stephanie. Their fairytale began freshman year at Northeastern where John was Matt's first roommate. In the years since then, John has been an excellent source of grounding for Rick, never faltering in his ability to tell Rick he was being foolish, in the flowery language that only John could provide. From popping bottles on the roof of the Naval Observatory, too officiating weddings, their friendship has been, and remains, interesting.
Bridesmaid
Alana and I ended up as roommates off campus despite having not really met due to mutual friends. Since moving in in 2009 she's been the best roommate and friend one can ask for. Many people have come and gone from our apartments but we always remained.
Groomsman
Rick met Jason freshman year at Northeastern where Rick spent entirely too much time in the common-room outside Jason's room. They decided to be roommates Sophomore year, which is where Rick first noticed Jason's uncanny ability to take up the entire length of whichever couch he sat on. They again lived together at 9 Sewall, with a bigger living space, and bigger couch.
Bridesmaid
The first time I met Katie was going along with friends to watch Jaws and eat tacos at her apartment, from there we became roommates and friends. Through our friendship we've shared our love of warm blankets, adventuring, and reading.
Groomsman
Rick met Steven, aka Byrd, in their Freshman year at NU. From the start, Rick and Byrd shared an uncanny ability to bring out the best worst ideas in each other. Examples include learning the areas of Boston by purposefully getting lost, filling half a room with oranges, and skydiving. Among these shenanigans, Byrd holds the honor of supplying Rick with his first hangover. They lived together Sophomore year, and as Byrd is a glutton for punishment, again at 9 Sewall.
