Our story begins a long time ago when braces were big and the school bus was the way to travel. With Amanda in 5th grade and Nick in 6th grade, there was little knowledge of what the future held for them. Since they both grew up in the same neighborhood, they first met riding the school bus together. Amanda quickly grew a crush on Nick, but never spoke a word of it to anyone! Nick hardly knew who she was. As the years went on, Nick played sports and Amanda did band and colorguard. They didnt interact much, however, they did share a class together. In late 2017, the stars (and bees) aligned to allow Amanda and Nick the chance to reconnect when they both swiped right on BUMBLE (dating app). Both down on their dating luck and willing to take a chance, they decided to “catch up” after all these years. It was a freezing cold night on January 16, 2018, but despite both hating the cold, one we will both cherish forever! After dinner, a few drinks, and some skee ball, we settled in for a “fun” game of jenga... which turned into quite a few very competive games! At one point, a good chunk of the bar was involved in cheering us on because the game had gotten so tall, we were standing on chairs to restack the pieces! Right before Nick lost that game (very important detail haha) he got a pretty hefty splinter in his finger that Amanda pounced on to try and remove! Some random guy, named Keith, came over to tell us “how awesome it was that your wife tried to dig that splinter out for you!” We both laughed and broke the news that not only were we not married, we were actually only on our first date!! Keith thought we were lying, but swore that one day we would be married (Keith, had we been smart enough to get your information that night, you’d be coming to the wedding)!!!
