Wedding Update

In light of COVID-19, we eloped on our original wedding date

Dear Family & Friends, With all our loved ones in mind, we have made the difficult decision to cancel our in-person reception planned for May 1, 2021. As many of you know, we moved forward with our original decision to get married on November 7th, 2020. We said our vows at the historic courthouse in Georgetown, Texas with our Maid of Honor and Best Man right by our side. After the ceremony, we jumped in a limo and headed to Austin’s tallest point and spot of our engagement - Mount Bonnell. Once there, we climbed one hundred and six flagstone steps to reach the awe-inspiring summit. At the top, we were greeted by the warmth of a Big Texas Sky and the beauty of Lake Austin below. Under a setting sun, we took in our first few moments as a married couple. After the sunset, we made our way down to Steiner Ranch Steakhouse and indulged in celebratory drinks and a wonderful dinner. Eventually, we decided to call it a night. As we walked through our front door, we were completely surprised to see that friends had stealthily decorated our house while we were away. While Cooper chomped on a leftover tomahawk bone, we stepped outside and shared our first dance in the backyard. Led Zeppelin’s “Thank You” filled the night air as we looked into each other’s eyes, grinning ear to ear and filled with love, now as Mr. & Mrs. Ross. The next day, we left for our Texas “mini-moon” which was filled with relaxation, lots of golf and way too many bottles of champagne. Although not what he had initially envisioned, our wedding day was perfect. We are overwhelmed with the amount of love and support that we’ve received since our big day - Thank You! Love, Jeremy & Brie

How We Met

Brie moved to Texas in June of 2012, sight unseen from California. She wound up in Austin by chance - her Aunt met a college recruiter on a flight. That encounter helped land Brie an interview and her first job out of college at Oracle, in Austin. Brie spent her first year in Texas building new friendships, navigating the world of tech sales, and enjoying one too many Gloria's margaritas and late nights at The Blind Pig on 6th Street with her cousin and roommate, Sam. Sam took a trip to Chicago for a weekend to visit her boyfriend, now husband, Zack. When she got home, she was excited to tell Brie all about Zack's friend Jeremy who was moving to Austin. "He likes sports, has a Midwestern accent, is outdoorsy and drives a Jeep - you two are totally going to hit it off." She was not wrong. Meanwhile, Jeremy was living in Indiana, unaware that he would soon be on his way to Austin as well. In late 2013, Jeremy and his best friend Zack were having a beer at Danny O's in Northwest Indiana. Zack explained that he recently met Sam, a recruiter from Oracle, and asked if Jeremy would ever consider moving to Boston for work. Jeremy got the job, but in a last minute twist of fate was asked to move to Austin and not Boston From his first day in Texas, he had a feeling this whole thing was going to work out. Sam and her roommate, Brie, threw him a birthday party his first night in town, and the rest is history. Many of the people he met that night continue to be great friends to this day.
