Our Story in brief: By Ross. It all began at Mike & Lucia Renouf's house (Zoe's parents for the people that may not be aware), where Me Ross, the trusty plumber for Zoe's family, turned up on the job to carry out works. Working away, Mike and Lucia's daughter caught my eye that day, and I thought, "That girl's pretty...actually, she's pretty fit! She speaks well too". I'm pondering future life... "She'd do well on my arm!" Meanwhile, Zoe must have thought, "Well, the plumber ain't too bad." And so, pipes weren't the only thing starting to connect. I randomly received a text message one evening from a customer's daughter, that customer's daughter turned out to be Zoe...(story to be continued on the wedding day). Zoe and I started seeing each other back in mid-2017, my business was starting to flourish, but it wasn't the only successful venture for me that year! Zoe stuck around (brave girl). Let's fast forward to a windswept day in Alderney 2024! I'm shitting myself, anxious and for once, i'm not confident... I had preplanned the surprise proposition at Fort Raz, which is a castle like fortification set out from Longis Bay down a causeway (one of our favourite places/ Bruty's spot) ... which had only just emerged again from the sea the hour I had planned to follow out the biggest question of my life to Zoe... yes the walk along the wet slippery, seaweed covered causeway was eventful and a definite bad judgement to say the least; with our dog trying to pull us off the causeway adding further to the anxiety of my perfectly planned day! Furthermore, the keys I could not locate to enter Fort Raz as I had planned with Alderney's famous Mr Bruno Kay Mouet, my preplanned romantic gesture of popping the question to the love of my life, Zoe, was failing miserably... I, ever the determined, spontaneous romantic I try to be, thought I've got to go for it! I got down on one knee, with barnacles now crushing into my bleeding knee I'd like to add... Zoe turns around, stares down at me, confused as I present myself slightly in pain to her "What are you doing? Get up!" I've got to follow it through now, "Babe, will you marry me and be my wife?" Zoe finally getting a good understanding of what was unfolding gave me my answer... Here we are, with you reading this story and casting your eyes over our wedding invitation! You can look forward to a fun-filled, emotional and party-filled wedding weekend rollercoaster on the weekend of our wedding, 06/06/2026! Please come be our Guests... it would mean the world to the two of us. We both look forward to spending it with you.
