Colourful or bright outfits are encouraged!
The Mehndi event is a colourful celebration held before the wedding and is traditionally celebrated by the women on the bride's side of the family (but we want everyone to come and celebrate!). Mehndi artists and Khush's relatives will apply henna in intricate designs to the hands of female guests (guys, there are henna options for you as well!). These designs symbolize joy and beauty. If you're wondering what to wear, we're here to help! For guys, a button-up shirt with dress pants or jeans will be fine. For women, a summer dress will be lovely. Remember, wear something colourful if you want! This event will be outdoors, so please keep this in mind when choosing what to wear. If you need any advice, just shoot us a message!
3:00 pm - 8:00 pm
The Pithi is an auspicious ritual performed for good luck. Pithi is a paste made mainly of turmeric, chickpea flour and rose water. Family members and well wishers of the bride and groom apply the paste on the bride/groom's skin. Ganesh Puja (prayer): 3:00 PM Mandap Muhurt (prayer): 4:00 PM Pithi (turmeric ceremony): 4:30 PM Grah Shanti (prayer): 5:00 PM Followed by dinner Attire for the Pithi ceremony is similar to the Mehndi: button-up shirt with dress pants/jeans for men and summer dresses for women works! The Mehndi tends to be a little more formal than Pithi, which might help you decide which outfit to wear to each event! This event will also be outdoors, so please keep this in mind when choosing what to wear. Let us know if you need any advice!
