Carla and Ross fell in love under the spell of Washington, D.C. In fact, their first date was at Bullfeathers bar (“Bullies”) right next to the U.S. Capitol. It was the evening of July 1st, 2015 that they realized “love at first sight” really does exist. They stopped each other in their tracks and couldn’t stop talking until they were kicked out. It was the perfect first date. From that point on, they continued to pursue their dreams in Washington, D.C. and experience together the thrill of glamorous D.C. galas, events at the White House and the U.S. Capitol. Not to mention D.C.’s amazing food, music, monuments, museums and the most beautiful springtime every year (sprinkled with dazzling cherry blossoms). Carla and Ross will always be grateful for the amazing people they met and fairytale memories they created in D.C., but they ultimately wanted to return to their Midwestern roots and be closer to family. America’s Heartland will always be home. As they say, “Midwest is best!” Carla was thrilled to show Ross the city she grew up in and show him it could be his home, as well. Cleveland has brought Carla and Ross much joy with a new home and a beautiful dog they rescued named Lucy. For those who’ve never been to Cleveland or don’t know it well, we’re so excited to introduce you to the magic of “CLE”. We hope you’ll get to experience our favorite image of Cleveland on our wedding day -- a mesmerizing sunset overlooking a glorious view of Lake Erie. An image that really resonates with Carla and Ross and makes them think of one of their favorite quotes, “You cannot discover new oceans unless you have the courage to lose sight of the shore.” It’s probably no surprise that Ross planned a romantic proposal at sunset on the beach in Cancun. Ross and Carla love to travel and, as they say, “chase sunsets.” They both enjoy trying new things and will undoubtedly continue to explore the adventures of life together.
