Île aux Cerfs
Have a day out in the sun on this pretty island, situated on the east coast of Mauritius with an all inclusive tour. Tours include transport from your hotel to Trou d’ Eau Douce, the boat trip across to the island, lunch and a trip to see a waterfalls.
Seven Coloured Earth in Chamarel
See the seven colours of earth at the Chamarel Waterfalls, it is small, yet impressive and makes for great photos. You are able to get there on your own (bus, taxi, car) or you can book a South West Tour which will take you to on a day’s round trip all around the South West of the island and includes several stopovers- including the seven coloured earth, the diamond factory in Floreal, the extinct volcano at Trou auc Cerfs, the sacred lake at Grand Bassin and the Black river Gorges.
Mauritius National Botanical Garden
This beautifully maintained garden is very close to Grand Bay, and getting there is very easy by bus. If you get hungry for some local flavor; stop at Chez Tante Athalie which is 2.5 km from the gardens. This restaurant comes with fantastic hospitality and allows one the chance to experience real Mauritian home-cooked cuisine.
Grand Baie
Grand Bay, (or Grand Baie) is a seaside village and large tourist beach in the district of Rivière du Rempart at the north of Mauritius. Grand Bay was once called De Bogt Zonder Eyndt (Bay Without End) by the Dutch in the 17th century, and when visiting the village it is easy to understand why. Today, the resort town of Grand Bay is the most popular holiday destination in Mauritius. Grand Bay owes its popularity to the enchanting quality of its emerald waters and to its liveliness by day and by night. It offers facilities for safe swimming, sailing and windsurfing. Grand Bay and its surroundings also offer a large choice of fashion and craft shops, hotels and restaurants. You can find in Grand Bay traditional local shops, some operating for almost 50 years, alongside modern shopping centers and worldwide brand shops.
Port Louis
If you feel like getting away from the pricey shops of Grand Bay, take a bus to Port Louis and get a local taste of how real Mauritians shop. If you want to go even more local, take another bus to Quatre Borne and get lost trying to navigate yourself around the tiny passageways with stalls selling everything from clothes, to shoes, to hair accessories, to sari’s and fabrics of all kinds.

Cascavelle Shopping Village offers a wonderful sight to those who go there. Stretching between land and sea, it invites to relaxation and conviviality with its elegant tropical architectural style and top class facilities. Open seven days a week, the mall is a lively and vibrant meeting place for many families. Dominated by a factory chimney that pays tribute to the sugar industry, the shopping mall brings together an array of retail shops, both local and international; around clothing, jewelry, fashion accessories, bookstore, supermarket, delicatessen, cafes and restaurants. The food court brings together several food brands form around the world (Chinese dishes, burgers, pizzas, etc.) to delight the palate. The center has also been designed to offer a more playful and recreational space for youngsters, while adults can engage in more excitement on the karting track.
La Pirogue Resort & Spa, Mauritius
Sundivers - Diving school located at La Pirogue (sundiversmauritius@gmail.com) One of the best places to dive off the West coast is Cathedrale and is one of Mauritius’ most popular dive sites. It is a huge underwater cave with lots of light penetrating through the walls looking like a church cathedral. Great visibility and lots of fish and coral make this site a favorite for underwater photographers.
