How We Met

We met in 2014. We knew each other through church and even had lunch together sometimes in college with a group of mutual friends. At the time he was with someone else and I was not looking for any type of romantic relationship. We became really good friends and hung out a lot more with two of our other friends. Long story short, a couple of years later he was single and asked if I wanted to hang out. Me being me, of course, was very timid about the whole situation. {It was a lot more complicated than I am revealing} But a few months went by and we rekindled our friendship and started hanging out more, just me and him this time. I realized shortly into our relationship that this was my person. I had never connected emotionally with someone like I did Ryan, and I was sure he felt the same way. April 20th, 2016 he asked if I would make it official {Facebook official because we are millennials obvi}, to make it public that we were now an item. We were both head over heels for each other before we even realized it. Now, I couldn't imagine my life without him.

The Proposal

October 20th, 2017 was my 23rd birthday! I had asked for a nice dinner with all of my closest friends and family, but I wanted to go somewhere like a chain restaurant that everyone could find something they liked. Ryan told me he would invite everyone that I wanted (should have been a dead giveaway right there) and schedule a good time to all meet there. I got off work early that day and went to get ready. Without even knowing what would happen that night. Ryan picked me up and drove me to Red Lobster {those cheddar bay biscuits man} to meet my friends and family. When we all had arrived they sat us in a few different tables and we ordered our food. Ryan had bought me my favorite cake from the Bread Basket and I was so excited to dig in but it was time for presents. I opened everyone's lovely presents and was so ready to eat some of this delicious cake when Ryan asked me if I was ready for my last present. Oblivious me, said that I thought the cake {which isn't a cheap cake} was my present. He then stood me up and got down on one knee and proposed. I honestly have no idea what he said and couldn't even spit out the words "yes!" He ended up asking me again and I realized I didn't give him an answer the first time. Of course I said yes and we celebrated all weekend with friends and family! P.S. I never did eat any of that cake, until days later.

For all the days along the way
