Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Rosie Sullivan and Joe Levy
NYC has so much to offer. Here are just a few of our recommendations if you find yourself in town a bit longer or feel like making a trip into Manhattan.

Carroll Gardens

Carroll Gardens, NY

Right by Gowanus, this neighborhood has awesome shops and cafes. Just stroll down Court street and you'll hit most everything. If you go south far enough, you'll find ourself at Other Half Brewery where you can grab a hazy IPA or milky stout. If you're looking to be inside; Shipwrecked (just south of Other Half) has mini golf, escape rooms, and more!

Broadway Shows: Musicals & Plays

New York, NY

Most of these are on Rosie's list to see, but she's been a bit busy this summer... Musicals: Merrily We Roll Along: Lindsey Mendez, a favorite of Rosie's, stars alongside Daniel Radcliffe and Jonathan Groff in the revival. Cabaret at the KitKat Club: if you saw the Tony performance, you know Eddie Redmayne is bound to be spectacular. Outsiders: Won the Tony for best new musical - based upon the book we all read freshman year of high school Hells Kitchen: for the Alicia Keys fans! Plays: Harry Potter and the Cursed Child - Rosie and Joe saw this (when it was a 2-parter!) early in the relationship. Really showcases the magic of theater. Stereophonic - Won the Tony! Sets place in a recording studio in the 60s - for the music lover. Appropriate - Sara Paulson stars in this family drama by playwright Branden Jacobs-Jenkins. Job - a psychological thriller about work that opens in mid-July. Had a really strong off-broadway run! Also check Off-Broadway for shows opening in Jul/Aug!

Parks!

New York, NY

If its not too hot, our parks provide some great people watching: Central Park - Our second date was a picnic in Central Park! Picked up some food from Zabar's, a bottle of wine around 80th, and after hours of talking, Rosie decided to marry Joe. Riverside Park (UWS) - Grab a bagel from Absolute Bagels at 108th and Broadway, or pizza from Mama Too's on 106th and head to Riverside for a quick picnic. Walk along the path uptown enjoying the river views and stop at The Expat (around 125th) for a drink and bar food with a southeast asian twist. Make your way further up Riverside and you'll get to the Little Red Lighthouse at 180th just under the GW Bridge. Stop at Saggio for some incredible Italian or The Uptown Garrison for American. Prospect Park - Walk about 4 avenues east of Threes and you'll get to Grand Army Plaza at the northern corner of the park. Or, visit the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens right next door. Tons of good options for food and drink in the area, so take your pick!
