Do I need to transfer my money to Jamaican currency?

Answer

NO DO NOT CHANGE TRANSFER YOUR CURRENCY. The US dollar is much stronger in Jamaica than they own currency. Keep your cash in USD. They wont even take they currency from you.

Do I need to bring racks for spending money?

Answer

NO. Dont go crazy and break the bank. the most you will spend money on is excursions if you choose to go on them, souvenirs and tipping. Please be mindful that you dont want to walk around with racks on you trust me. A good amount of cash to have in hand for your whole trip is about 180-250 single and 275-450 couples. You will have to pay for excursions with your debit or credit card but you will have to pay transportation and extras on the excursions with cash.

Should I wait until I get to the airport to get cash

Answer

NO. Go to the bank at least the day before you depart from chicago. The airport atm and currency exchange will tax you. Go to the bank in chicago and see a teller at the bank to pull your spending cash. You will need to get lots and lots of single 1 dollar Bill's for tipping. Also you wont get cash back in Jamaica in most places so just bring loads of 1 & 5 dollar bills.

Is the excursions mandatory?

Answer

NO. You only do what you want to do and spend what you want to spend. Well except for November 6 2020 at 11am lol! Our wedding is the only mandatory event.

Do I need to have a real ID or Passport to go to Jamaica.

Answer

YOU NEED A PASSPORT TO TRAVEL ANYWHERE OUTSIDE OF THE USA. BRING YOUR ID OR DRIVERS ID BECAUSE SOMETIMES THEY CARD YOU. AND YOU DONT WANNA LOSE YOUR PASSPORT. IF YOU DONT HAVE AN ACTIVE PASSPORT YOU WONT BE ABLE TO TRAVEL.

Where do I get my passport?

Answer

Go to any main post office branch and you can apply for your passport and take your pic for it. It takes about 4-6 weeks so go early dont wait til last minute because it will cost you. The regular price is about $185.00

What kind of clothes should I bring?

Answer

Light clothing is required. if the sun is out it's very hot so wearing light weighted clothing is a good way to stay cool and enjoy your vacation.

Should I buy while in Jamaica or bring Sunscreen?

Answer

Buy your sunscreen in the USA. Sunscreen is very very expensive in Jamaica. YOU WILL NEED SUNSCREEN SO PLEASE GET SOME. Walmart Walgreens family dollar all sell Sunscreen
