It was the summer of 2012, Roshan and Steven were both starting “summer session" at Penn State. They each arrived at their dorms in south halls, Roshan in Simmons Hall and Steven in McElwain Hall. Although both dorms were next to each other and ate at the same dining commons, they did not run into each other. They even went to the same parties that summer and nothing. In fall 2012, both Roshan and Steven moved into Brumbaugh Hall, and lived only a few floors apart. While they definitely crossed paths in person, they never connected. Throughout their time at Penn State, they each joined greek life, and were both philanthropy chairs for their fraternity and sorority at the same time. They also took the same Jewish Studies classes and yet, did not meet. In May 2016, Roshan and Steven graduated from Penn State University on the same stage, on the same day, not knowing that in just a few short years, their paths will finally cross. Despite not connecting in college, those mutual experiences did come in handy in April 2021. While Roshan was in Los Angeles on vacation with her family, Steven recognized her on Hinge from his time at Penn State. Having mutual friends and remembering seeing her at THON events, Steven had the courage to reach out and finally make the connection. They both realized how much they had in common and soon after, they finally had their first date at Wundergarten in Washington, D.C.. From there, the relationship was underway! From spending time watching football in the fall together, to trying new restaurants around Washington D.C., to long weekends away around the Northeast, Roshan and Steven fell more in love with each and every day. Steven was there for Roshan while she was in the process of starting a new job and Roshan was there for Steven while he was studying (and passing) the bar. They were always there for each other through thick and thin. Steven had plans to propose to Roshan at the Kennedy Center on September 23, 2023. Due to Tropical Storm Ophelia, Steven changed plans within 24 hours to propose at the National Portrait Gallery. There, while wearing matching Penn State gear, he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. Of course, Roshan said yes!
