Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Mia Austin and Roshan Dias Abeygunawardena
We are thrilled to welcome you to Minneapolis, a city we love and are proud to call home. Both of us grew up here, it’s where our story began and it's where we are building our life together. We wanted to put together a list of some of our favorite spots to help you experience what makes this city so special to us during your visit!

Broders' Pasta Bar

5000 Penn Avenue South, Minneapolis, MN 55419

One of our favorite neighborhood restaurants! Cute, cozy and the best Italian food in the city! They are open for lunch and dinner, and also have a deli (the best New York style pizza!!) across the street. Fun fact: Mia worked at Broders in college!

Bunny's Bar & Grill

5916 Excelsior Boulevard, St. Louis Park, MN 55416

classic Minneapolis staple and local favorite known for its laid-back atmosphere, great burgers, and strong pours. Mia and Roshan love to pop in to watch a game and Mia is a huge fan of their chicken tenders with waffle fries and seasoned sour cream (unbeatable). Bunny’s is the perfect spot to grab a casual meal or a drink, watch a game, and get a true taste of a longtime neighborhood hangout. Great for groups and an easy, relaxed stop while exploring the city. If you go, you have to play pull tabs - rules are rules!

The Creekside Supper Club

4820 Chicago Avenue, Minneapolis, MN 55417

If you have never experienced a classic Midwestern supper club, Creekside is a must-visit. With its kitschy, cozy vibes and delicious foods, it has become a favorite spot for Mia and Roshan. If you go, you have to try the popovers. Mia also recommends pairing your meal with a very cold, extra dirty gin martini!

Eat Street

Minneapolis, MN 55408

A vibrant stretch along Nicollet Avenue known for its incredible variety of restaurants and cafes from around the world. Whether you’re craving tacos, pho, pizza, or Ethiopian cuisine, Eat Street is the perfect place to explore Minneapolis’ food scene!

Hola Arepa

3501 Nicollet Avenue, Minneapolis, MN 55408

One of Mia and Roshan's absolute favorite spots in Minneapolis! A cozy, casual spot serving authentic Venezuelan arepas, empanadas and other Latin-inspired comfort foods. Order their rotating frozen cocktail - you will not be disappointed!

NOLO's Kitchen & Bar

515 North Washington Avenue, Minneapolis, MN 55401

Another favorite restaurant of ours! Located in the North Loop, NOLO's is loved for the fun vibes, hearty food and creative cocktails. Whether you’re in the mood for a classic burger, tacos, or something a little more adventurous, NOLO’s has something for everyone.

Surly Brewing Co.

520 Malcolm Avenue Southeast, Minneapolis, MN 55414

One of Minneapolis’ most iconic breweries, Surly is known for its bold beers and the fun, energetic atmosphere they've created in their beerhall. With a huge selection of craft beers on tap, tasty food options, and plenty of space to hang out, it’s a perfect spot to gather.

Wooden Ship Brewing Company

3300 West 44th Street, Minneapolis, MN 55410

A cozy neighborhood brewery known for its welcoming vibe and delicious brews! Just minutes away from Mia’s childhood home, it’s been a favorite spot for relaxing, catching up with friends, and enjoying a casual drink.

Bde Maka Ska

Minneapolis, MN

Grab a coffee at Caribou (3044 Excelsior Blvd #103) and take a walk around Bde Maka Ska, one of our favorite lakes and a place that holds so many special memories for us. We spent a lot of time here during our first few years together, and some of Mia’s favorite moments are from evenings when Roshan would come over after work to walk the lake with Mia and her dog, Wilson.

Historic Stone Arch Bridge

100 Portland Avenue, Minneapolis, MN 55401

A historic bridge that offers amazing views of the Minneapolis downtown skyline and the Mississippi River!

Lake Harriet

Minneapolis, MN 55419

Mia grew up a block from Lake Harriet and it remains one of our favorite lakes to walk our dogs around! Enjoy a walk (weather depending) and take in the view of the city!

Mall of America®

60 East Broadway, Bloomington, MN 55425

Located just 15 minutes from downtown Minneapolis, Mall of America is the largest shopping and entertainment complex in the U.S. With hundreds of stores, dozens of restaurants, and attractions like Nickelodeon Universe, an indoor amusement park, and SEA LIFE Minnesota Aquarium, it’s a great spot for shopping, dining, or getting your steps in (most helpful in the winter months). Whether you’re browsing, people-watching, or visiting with kids, there’s something for everyone.

Walker Art Center

725 Vineland Place, Minneapolis, MN 55403

One of the most-visited contemporary art museums in the country! Located right outside of downtown and right next to the iconic Spoon & Cherry sculpture. They also have a fantastic restaurant in the museum, Cardamom.
