Our story began back in the halls of Divine Child High School, where we spent four years with lockers just a few feet apart. We shared mutual friends, plenty of laughs, and crossed paths often—but always as friends. After graduation, life took us in different directions. Emily headed off to Michigan State (Go Green!), while Nick started his career at DTE. We kept in touch here and there but still remained friends. During Emily’s junior year—right in the middle of COVID— Emily's roommate had never experienced a real game day and Emily was determined to make the most of it. That meant getting dressed up in green and white, and doing all the game day traditions. That same day, with a little liquid courage, Emily decided to reach out to Nick. A message turned into a conversation, and just like that, something new began. What started with a secret Halloween hangout quickly turned into something more. Our first official date was simple and sweet: milkshakes at M Street in Howell. It was November, and with indoor dining shut down, we sat outside in the cold, freezing on a park bench. A few weeks later, after a day of ice skating downtown at Campus Martius, we officially became a couple. Since then, it’s been an incredible journey—filled with vacations, lake days, ski trips, and so many unforgettable moments together. Everything came full circle when Nick proposed at the very place we had our first date, where it all began. Now we can’t wait to celebrate the next chapter of our story with all of you by our side.
