Thanks to El Niño, the summer of 2015 brought warm water and warm weather. One evening after work sometime in August Scott noticed a blonde girl (sans wetsuit) running out to the water. Scott, who was also "trunking it" chased after her. They exchanged smiles and shared waves. The two of them did not cross paths until late September. They spent the whole day at Kelly's Cove swimming, surfing, and bbq'ing. Pierre, a local friend and fisherman walked by with a Striped Bass which caught Scott's eye. He purchased the fish and brought it home to Mama Trina's house where Rose and Scott had their first date the very next day.
Easter weekend in 2017 Rose and Scott packed the van, zodiac in tow and headed towards Tomales Bay for a weekend of camping with friends. "Six bottles of champagne?" Rose wondered why on earth Scott packed so much bubbly. The thought of a proposal did not even cross her mind. The weekend was filled with close friends, campfires, crabbing, oysters and champagne. Rose, still in a dream (after her 4 hour cat nap) settled in next to the fire when Scott got down on one knee and presented his grandmothers heirloom ring inside of an oyster shell. He asked, "will you let me shuck oysters for you the rest of our life?" The answer was yes, yes, yes. And the rest is history.
