Parque Central de Antigua Guatemala
The Parque Central of Antigua Guatemala is a very popular tourist area to visit. There you will see the beautiful fountain in the middle with a lot of seating area around the place. There is also vendors walking around the area selling unique souvenirs to remember your trip of the beautiful country of Guatemala. There are some cafes around if you want to take a quick break for coffee, water and tasty pastries.
El Mercadito
El Mercadito is a HUGE indoor market with all kinds of beautiful souvenirs. From colorful table runners, shoulder bags, bracelets, paintings, wood carvings, t-shirts, keychains... all traditional designs of the Guatemalan culture. It's also in the same area as the Parque Central.
Starbucks
I know we can all get or go to a Starbucks anywhere... but this Starbucks is one of a kind and it is a MUST. And it is even more beautiful to visit in the night time. You are surrounded by their gorgeous garden, wall art, fountains... it creates a relaxing environment to sip on your favorite drink with a pastry in your other hand. 10/10 recommend visiting
Cerro de La Cruz
Cerro de La Cruz is the best spot to go to get the best view of the entire city of Antigua with the stunning view of the Volcano right in front of you, known as the "Volcan de Agua". There you will also see vendors selling souvenirs and drinks. You could take an Uber or taxi to visit this beautiful spot that's only 10 minutes or less in car from Antigua. Or you could also hike up if you would like. There are some steps that you can take that's on the side once you get closer to the area and it's a 10-20 minute hike.
Antigua Travel Atv
If you want more of an adventure type of day we definitely recommend renting an ATV for an hour or for the day. You could drive up to Cerro de La Cruz, cruise around Antigua... they offer different kinds of tours as well, like sunrise or sunset rides and many more. There are also more ATV rental companies around the area in Antigua that are very trust worthy and offer more different kinds of tours.
Hector's Bistro
This is one of our favorite restaurants in Antigua Guatemala. It is just a couple blocks away from the Central Park or Parque Central (middle point of the city). They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. But it is best to go during dinner time. It is such a beautiful atmosphere with live music on the weekends. Our personal favorites from the menu is the Margarita pizza and the "Lomito de res a la plancha " which is steak accompanied by a cream-based sauce, blue cheese, and a light touch of chipotle. Served with sauteed spinach and potato wedges. They also have a bar with the best drinks.
