Oakland Museum of California

We love Crown Beach and Alameda beach to the east. Cold water, but on a nice clear day with some layers on, you can have a great time sitting by the beach or taking a stroll.

Our favorite neighborhood donut shop. If you're vegan head over to Vegan Donut Gelato instead - at 411 E 18th Street in Oakland.

Donut Savant

Fun to ride the ferry from Alameda or Oakland to the Ferry Building in San Francisco. Saturday farmer's market and lots of food and vendors inside the building. Also enjoyable to walk along the Embarcadero.

If you've never been to the Bay Area, and there's a clear day while you're visiting, it's worth a trip to Land's End. Easy hikes along the coast. Picture at the top of this page is from a trail at Land's End (close to the labyrinth).

Located in Golden Gate Park. We enjoy walking the grounds and having tea at the Tea Pagoda.
