We were both coaching AAU basketball for the East Bay Soldiers. We had talked more than usual in the days leading up to a Vegas tournament we were co-chaperoning. And once we came home from that trip, we were nearly inseparable. Eric likes to say what sealed the deal for him was a couple weeks later we had games at Salesian and his boys were hungry and I bought Noah a hot dog. Lol. We decided our official anniversary is 8/6/2012 - the day of the Chevron refinery fire. We were on the phone and he was, uh, making me feel some type of way I guess cuz I told him I was gonna drive to his house to go see him and he told me there was no way I was gonna defy a shelter-in-place order and drive to Richmond. Which I of course took as him challenging me. And a short while later I knocked on his door. And he’s been challenging me (and I’ve been defying him Lol) ever since
2-22-2022 will be the 10-year anniversary of when we found out we were pregnant with Mia. And, since he’s a gambler and likes seeing all those same numbers together, I thought he would appreciate a wedding date like that. So, in early 2020, I told him, “We’re getting married on 2-22-22. That should be enough time for you to get divorced, and propose to me and put some money away for this wedding” And he said he would make it happen. I guess we’ll see 🤷🏽♀️ Cuz I also told him, if we don’t get married on 2-22-22, then we’re not gonna get married. So, I guess we’ll see 🤷🏽♀️
