That's Amore

--Florence, Italy--

Perspective of Rose: We met the first day of our Study Abroad Program in Florence. As I was entering the room, I noticed Taylor standing quietly with some other boy and the program director who was signing them in. I thought I better make my way over there so I could sign in and if that tall, dark and handsome boy (I'm talking about Taylor, not the other boy!) is still there then maybe I'll talk to him. Well he was! And I did! And how did I?! Delirious from zero sleep on the flights over, I blurted, "Hi! My name is Rose. Well it's actually RoseMarie...but everyone calls me Rose." To which Taylor replied, "Hi. Taylor" with a sheepish grin. And that was that. If it was a movie! We were in some classes together and I kept getting to know him. He was kind, smart, and I think I already mentioned tall, dark, and handsome so we became fast friends. It wasn't until our trip to Greece when the sparks really began to fly and we were an official item two weeks later. A few months later, on a trip to Ireland, Taylor told me he loved me! And I of course reciprocated! And now here we are! 6 years 11 months later--getting married! Perspective of Taylor: As Rose mentioned we met on the first day... I'll take no credit for that because if it were left up to me we would have met in the third or fourth month of the program. Let's just say I move very slow. But to my surprise this beautiful girl comes up to me and says "Hi my name is Rose. Well..." You know the rest. (see above) Score for me because I didn't have to go through the internal battle of "Do I say hello or not?" Rose says that I didn't seem all that excited to meet her. Little did she know I was looking for her after we served ourselves food so that we could sit at the same table. You know the thing that won me over wasn't the fact that she said hi to me first, or the fact that she is the most beautiful girl I've met. It was during dinner when I said something to the group and no one paid any mind. Except Rose.
