We’re getting married!

Rosie had just moved back home from Waco, Texas. She was looking for a job and decided to reach back out to the Hotel Galvez since she had worked there before in the summer. At the same time, she heard back from UTMB about a temp position they had in HR. She went ahead and took both positions in case the UTMB position did not become permanent. Rosie began working July 4th weekend as a hostess. The system was the same as it was a few years ago so she quickly began working the hostess stand right away. July 4th is an extremely busy weekend for the hotel and requires all hands on deck. She’s sure Stephon at one point introduced himself that night, but with all the guests, she doesn’t quite remember. She does remember that Stephon did keep coming by the hostess stand a lot. He was in banquets at the time and the hotel shared one kitchen and one staff elevator. He would stop by and say hello and try to make conversation. However, the rule of the hotel is that servers and employees cannot ‘crowd the stand,’ and she would politely tell him, “Get back to work.” Eventually, he started leaving notes on the hostess stand. Stephon asked for Rosie’s number a few times that she declined to give him. Finally, the other servers told her that she should give him a chance and the next time he asked, she said “Okay.” Soon after she gave him her number (a total of five minutes), he came back to the hostess stand and asked her out on a date. She said “Okay.” He then promptly asked her “Will you be my girlfriend?” And since she had already given him two ‘Okays’, she decided one more would be fine and she said ‘Okay.’ They went out on their first date to see Guardian of The Galaxy on August 11,2014 and have gone on to see every Marvel move since then.

After Stephon's and Rosie's first date, Stephon told her that he was going to marry her one day. Instead of running for the hills, she just laughed it off and thought he was crazy. After three years, she started dropping very subtle hints that she was ready to be married such as "So are you going to ask me or what?". Stephon being the careful planner that he is, asked for her father's blessing around Christmas time. They were at Friendmas when Stephon backed up into a ditch and needed to be pulled out and popped a tire on the way out. He needed special bolts that Rosie's father happened to have. So it was the perfect time on a cold, late night to ask to marry his daughter. Rosie having no idea that this was going to happen so soon, even when she initiated the call to cousin Georgie to design a ring. So when she was asked by her niece to go shopping at Petco early in the morning so they could make Easter Baskets for their dogs, she really didn't have any idea. Proving that she was clueless to what her family was setting up, she went out to Petco early with no makeup, a messy bun, a stained shirt, and no manicure. Stephon went to her family's house to set up and when she walked in with hands full of treats that her niece took from her, she found Stephon down on one knee with the ring designed by her family nestled in a rose... in a pizza box.
