During season three of Covid (just prior to omicron, or "omicromi" as we llke to say) Rose visited friends in Philly. It just so happened that Caroline was the best friend of one of those friends. After Rose initiated a handshake (which she quickly regretted, remembering people didn't do "handshakes" during Covid), they struck up a conversation. Upon learning Caroline was a basketball fan, Rose regaled her with a story about the time she met then-Bulls player Jimmy Butler. As the festivities wrapped up, the two found themselves crammed into the back of a car as the group took the show on the road. In an attempt to seal fate, Caroline's best friend and forever wing-woman, took a poll of the car to determine who was "single." What happens next is hotly debated between the couple, but allegedly, Rose made "eyes" at Caroline as they traveled through Philly. Eventually, the crew arrived at a Philadelphia institution (and partial inspiration for their future dog's name), Woody's. Once inside, Rose bought a round of shots (tequila, to be specific) to carry on the festivities. Eventually, Rose and Caroline would find themselves together on the dance floor (no doubt with some further encouragement from Moira). It is here that our lovebirds shared their first kiss. This is not, however, the beginning of our happily ever after... As the night concluded, our bashful lovers parted without exchanging phone numbers. Caroline would attempt to follow Rose on Instagram, but given Rose's status as a luddite and defunct millennial - she would not see the request for several months. Instead, Caroline gave Moira permission to "meddle," and indeed she did. In a five-part text message to Rose, Moira would bury the lead and wait till the last text message to ask: "Is it cool if I give Caroline your number?" Our gentle readers can obviously discern that the answer was "yes." And on a day in late April the pair began talking and would continue to talk every day following.
