Brooks and Rose first met at a college house party in 2018 in Salem, Massachusetts. Brooks stood out in a blue and yellow duck shirt, which caught Rose’s eye—she walked up and complimented it, sparking their first conversation. Over the school year, their paths kept crossing at parties, downtown Salem bars, and each other’s hockey games. By fall of 2019, Rose and her roommates were moving into a new apartment. On a whim, Rose messaged Brooks on Snapchat to ask if he could help them move. He agreed—but didn’t show up. Later that night, after the move was done, fate stepped in again when they ran into each other at a bar. This time, their conversation led to something more. From that night on, Brooks and Rose were inseparable and soon began dating. In November 2019, Brooks transferred from Salem State University to Iowa State University to pursue his college hockey dream. Despite the distance, their relationship remained strong, although it wasn't easy they both knew in the end they wanted to make it work. So the Face-Time calls grew longer and the countdowns to see each other again continued. Then in 2022, Rose made a big leap. She packed up her life in Boston, and with her dad by her side, drove 28 hours across the country to join Brooks in Rapid City, South Dakota—marking the next chapter in their journey together. Now, they’re so excited to be writing the next chapter of their story with marriage, and they can’t wait to celebrate their love with all of you!
