We went here on our first trip together.  Needless to say it's a bucket list destination and worth the 3.5 hour drive from Phoenix.

Grand Canyon, South Rim

We also went here on our first trip and you can't beat the Red Rock views! It is a doable daytrip, being a 2 hour drive from Phoenix.
