Picture it, Gilroy, 2010. It was a night of music, a night of love, of amor. Actually, not at all but it was a great night nonetheless. We met through mutual friends in a metal band- long live Our Living Memory- who were performing a set in Gilroy one Saturday night. Like always, the guys wanted to grab food after the show, so we drove over to Black Bear Diner, which was closed, and then made our way to Dennys for late night breakfast. Once seated, Lauren was discussing which French Toast option was about to grace her plate with her friend Raeann, while directly across the table, a man with a stunning LeBrae piercing and pancake tattoo interjected that both were trash compared to a short stack. A battle of wits ensued, which led to a lasting friendship. Fast forward 5 years, Evan and Lauren met up again after years apart to royally rock out to The Offspring at Punk Rock Picnic. With the promise to hang out again soon and a failed setup attempt by Lauren for Evan, the pair finally met up for lunch and aimless wandering through Santana Row 6 months later. Things felt different then, and sparked the beginning of a new chapter -and pancake/french toast debate- that continued to write itself for the next couple of years. As time went on, breakfast and metal shows remained prominent common interests, but so became a good Target run & WWE PPV. 5 years later, after racking up countless Disney trips, rock shows, a house, & a sweet babe, Evan & Lauren are finally gettin hitched!!
