John 15:12: My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.

Rosie met Sacha (Matron of Honor) in 2018 at the University of Miami through Catholic Campus Ministry. Rosie and Sacha quickly grew close together in friendship and in faith. Sacha married Derek Sherman (groomsmen), who is TJ's cousin. Sacha knew both TJ and Rosie were looking for a good Catholic partner, and she quickly set them up on a date. The first date happened to be at TJ's sister Rachel's wedding (no pressure right? but also very foretelling!). Rosie and TJ quickly hit it off, dancing and laughing the night away. However, after the wedding, TJ asked Rosie on a dinner date, but Rosie politely declined. She said she was not ready to be in a new relationship at the time. TJ was polite and understanding, and told Rosie he would wait for her to be ready. TJ was patient and persistent, and continued to message Rosie, winning her over with his sweet deposition and quick-witted humor. Messages turned into long phone calls, and eventually Rosie told TJ she was ready for that dinner date. TJ was a corporate jet pilot at the time, and was gone for weeks at a time, flying all over the world. The two anxiously waited for TJ to return home to South Florida so they could go on that first solo date. Finally, TJ came home, and they went on that dinner and Easter mass together. Rosie told TJ in that church she sensed that God had big plans for their relationship. And God most certainly did. Their relationship blossomed beautifully and they fell deeply in love. For the first time for both of them, God was in the center of the relationship and everything fell into place. Rosie started law school at St. Thomas University, a venture that TJ has always tremendously supported. With TJ on the road and Rosie in school, sometimes they were only able to see each other once a month, and missed each other badly. It was not always easy, but with great love anything is possible. TJ eventually became a pilot for Spirit airlines, and he was able to be home more often. No matter how busy his day was, TJ always made time to call Rosie at the end of the night. TJ has always made Rosie feel like a million bucks, supporting her in all of her crazy ideas and ventures. TJ has bought Rosie countless flowers and spent many of his hours listening to her. Rosie takes very careful and good care of her sweet TJ.

TJ realized more and more everyday he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Rosie. He prayed for God's approval through a Novena to St. Therese of Lisieux, and felt God tell him yes. Over a few months, TJ secretly devised his master plan to propose to Rosie. Meanwhile, Rosie had been ready for many months beforehand, was pestering TJ everyday over when he was going to propose. Rosie knew TJ was the one from his incredible sweetness, strength, love, and loyalty to her. Rosie also experienced many spiritual signs that TJ was her future husband. Rosie was first tipped off the process had finally begun when TJ came to spend Thanksgiving weekend with the Nelan family. She noticed TJ was breathing very heavily before going to the beach alone with her parents, as she was staying back at the house to study. She also noticed TJ was looking at engagement rings on his laptop. When Nancy, Tom and TJ returned to the house, Rosie noticed Nancy was visibly very happy and excited. Rosie figured if her intuition was correct, it would still be several months until he actually proposed. However, a couple of weeks later, TJ and Rosie when on a vacation to the Sherman home in Great Harbor Kay, the Berry Islands of the Bahamas. On December 28th, 2022, TJ planned a photoshoot on the beach, and some how made it Rosie's idea to take pictures together. She got all dressed up and ready, completely unknowing her whole life was about to change. As they walked on beautiful Sugar Sand beach, they smiled for photos until suddenly TJ got down on one knee. After a beautiful short speech, Rosie gave the easiest yes in her life. She then cycled from laughing to crying with joy for the next few hours. They spent the rest of the week in paradise, soaking up every beautiful moment.
