In 2019, Rosalinda moved to Orlando and began visiting churches, eventually finding herself at Beracah 1 SDA Haitian Adventist Church—where she first noticed Steven. Though they saw each other often, he never approached her, assuming she was older. Everything changed when Rosalinda joined the youth choir, and Steven realized they were the same age. They connected, started FaceTiming daily, and their friendship quietly turned into something more. One afternoon after school, Rosalinda stopped by Steven’s house, and they decided to shoot hoops at a nearby park. Steven joked, “If I make this half-court shot, you have to let me take you on a date.” After carefully watching the wind, he lined up his shot—and made it on the first try. She had no choice but to say yes. On February 20, 2020, Steven planned their first date around her love for art. From that day on, they were inseparable—through the pandemic and Rosalinda’s courageous battle with cancer, Steven stood by her side with love and strength. On November 21, 2024, surrounded by family and friends, Steven got down on one knee and asked Rosalinda to be his wife. With the biggest smile, she happily said yes. Our journey hasn’t been perfect, but it’s been real—filled with laughter, resilience, prayer, and growth. This is our love story—and it’s only the beginning.
