Durango, Dgo., Mexico

During the early centuries of Spanish colonial Mexico, Durango was part of the province of Nueva Vizcaya, now it is considered the most beautiful architecture in northern Mexico, surrounded by large buildings that go from the Baroque, Neoclassical and Gothic style, walking the streets to the center is a great trip back in time.

Beautiful old church! Legend has it that every night, in a tower of the Cathedral of Durango you can see the figure of a nun. If you look closely from the exact spot, it is possible to distinguish its white habit and its thin silhouette slightly tilted downwards, as if admiring the city. That "apparition" is a game of shadows, but it also serves as a testament to one of Durango's most famous legends.

Take a stroll down this paved corridor, located in downtown. There are many bars, restaurants, shops ( where they sell local Mezcal), and occasional events on the corridor at the weekends.

Our favorite taco stand and our first place to go eat when we go to Durango. Barbacoa tacos- Guadalajara style but make sure you also try Durango's well known Barbacoa.
