Kirk and Rosalee have both spent ample time chasing fish around the desert Southwest. They worked on the same projects and with many of the same people, but never met each other while living in the Southwest. It wasn't until Kirk moved to Oregon that their paths crossed at the annual Desert Fishes Council meeting in Albuquerque. They chatted about all the experiences and friendships they had in common, and after Kirk went home to Oregon, spent hours every night talking. It wasn't long until they both realized they were meant to be together, and Rosalee moved to Oregon.
Kirk and Rosalee adore their pooches and usually take them for an evening stroll every night. One warm summer evening, Rosalee was exhausted after work and did not feel like going. Kirk nagged her to go for a walk, knowing that they would be spending a lot of time apart over the next few months. Rosalee finally relented, and they set out on their typical stroll to the park and around the lake. Just as they were approaching the lake, one of their dogs decided nature was calling. Rosalee asked Kirk for the roll of doggy bags to pick up the mess. When Kirk handed her the roll of bags, she noticed a ring around them, and Kirk kneeled to ask her the big question. Whats love all about if you can't deal with picking up crap from time to time!
Due to Covid-19 Rosalee and Kirk’s 2020 wedding plans to celebrate with their friends and family were not possible. However, they were lucky enough to get married on the San Juan River with a few close friends. During a week long raft trip in June they hiked to the rim of the San Juan canyon, shared their vows, and toasted to love. They can’t wait to finally get to celebrate with their community!
