Question

What is the Attire?

Answer

Our dress code is Black Tie Optional.
We kindly ask our guests to wear dark, elegant colors such as black, navy, dark green, or charcoal grey. As our ceremony will take place in a religious setting, we respectfully request that all attire be modest and dignified out of respect for the sanctity of the occasion. Think formal, classic, and covered where appropriate. Thank you for helping us honor this meaningful moment with honor and respect.

Question

Is there parking at the venue?

Answer

Yes! The venue has ample parking available on site, and offers both self-park and valet options. We recommend ride-share for those who plan to enjoy our open bar!

Question

Will the evening be separated by gender?

Answer

For the most part, no. All components of the evening will be mixed seating/mingling with the exception of dancing, which will not be mixed.

Question

Can you explain some of the terms I’m seeing on the schedule?

Answer

Of course! The “Chosson’s Tisch” is where Yehuda (the groom, or “Chosson”) will be during the general cocktail hour/bride’s reception. Because we will not be seeing each other prior to the bedeken, we will be in separate areas for the cocktail hour. When it’s time for the bedeken, Yehuda will be danced/escorted from the Tisch to the main cocktail area where he will greet Rori and the rest of the guests. The “Bedeken” is the bride and groom’s “first look”. It is a chance to greet each other, and Yehuda will ceremoniously (and probably clumsily) place Rori’s veil over her head. The fathers and grandfathers will then give Rori blessings and the Chosson posse will then dance him away to prepare for the Chuppah. The Bedeken is one of the most joyous moments of the entire evening! The “Chuppah” is the actual wedding ceremony. Many general aspects of it will be quite familiar, although there may be some things that we do that are a little more unfamiliar, like more blessings, and some unfamiliar songs being sung. Our officiant will explain everything as we go so have no fear! The bride and groom entrance into the party will be directly into the full first dance set, so the first course of dinner will be served prior to that. After the entrance, and the first dance is complete, dinner will resume, and the second dance will commence after the main course.

Question

Is there a hotel block?

Answer

While there is no official hotel block, we are happy to recommend several suitable hotels in the area. Please navigate to the Travel page to view our list of recommended hotels!

Question

Will there be a rehearsal dinner?

Answer

We are excited to partake in the custom of not seeing each other for a full week before our wedding night. Our “first look” will be at the bedeken! Due to this custom, we will be foregoing a rehearsal dinner and are looking forward to the real thing on Sunday!

Question

Will the chuppah be outside?

Answer

The chuppah will take place indoors!
