University of Georgia
Experience the first puplic university in the country. Take a walk through historic North Campus right off of downtown Athens. Sanford Stadium, the Arch, and the Founders Garden are all must see places. If you are celebrating an important moment, be sure to ring the Chapel Bell!
Creature Comforts Downtown Taproom and Brewery
Creature Comforts has become an iconic Athens brewery. They offer tastings, food, and games every day. Tropicalia IPA and Classic City Lager have become the unofficial beers of Athens.
The State Botanical Garden of Georgia
If you fall in love with the Botanical Gardens the way that we did, please come take a long stroll through the gardens. There are tons of trails and even more to explore. The visitor center is open until 4:30 pm every day and the outdoor gardens remain open until 7pm.
Georgia Theatre
The Theater is an iconic music venue that has hosted many legendary acts such as The B52s, REM, Widespread Panic, and Greg Allman. They have nightly shows and the rooftop is one of the best spots in Athens to grab a cocktail with a view.
Trappeze Pub
Our first date was on the outside patio! Come enjoy a great bar and a Chicken Bacon Ranch sandwich. Be sure to ask for the raspberry ketchup and the garlic aioli with your fries.
Last Resort Grill
One of our favorite restaurants in Athens. The white chocolate cheesecake is one of the best desserts we've ever had.
Paloma Park
Paloma Park is a a great spot for food and cocktails. Paloma has become a gathering spot for many post grad UGA students before and after UGA football games.
The Tree That Owns Itself
Check out one of Athens' most unique landmarks. A tree located off North Finley not far from downtown Athens that actually owns the land it grows on. The original owner spent so much time under the tree throughout his life that in his will he gave the land to the tree itself.
