During the NORRA Mexican 1000 (The Happiest Race on Earth) Hilary caught Sean's eye. He and his best buddy Dan had been traveling with a different local race team. But, catching a ride home with Roger, Sherie, and the BFI Guys was the start of a dynamic friendship and race partnership.

Becoming close friends was the next step. We would travel out to the races together, Sean waiting until Hilary was off of work late in the afternoons, battling traffic, and bonding over various mishaps in Charline (our chase van) until we eventually rumbled into our final destination.

As our friendship deepened, romance flourished. Between our places in Thousand Oaks and Ventura, we spent lots of time visiting each other. After we made our relationship official, a wonderful opportunity arose to make our new home in beautiful Somis.

Sean surprised Hilary during a weekend camping trip to El Capitan State Beach near Santa Barbara. He proposed to her in the sand near a favorite mexican blanket, while two stunned witnesses sat nearby. They went for a swim afterward and he made a romantic dinner by candlelight. We are excited to share and celebrate the next chapter of our journey with you!
