How We Met

12.25.12

Meeting someone organically is not always the easiest feat, especially with the trials of being a hopeless romantic in a modern dating world. Sometimes, to find the love of your life, you need to take matters into your own hands. Luckily, Richard and Denise had the same idea at just the right time. It was just another day of celebration with their families, but little did they know Christmas day of 2012 would be the start of their love story. Denise was just getting ready to close the door on the online dating world. That was, until she received the sweetest message from her now future husband. After taking the time to read Denise’s profile, Richard became fascinated with the "radiant" girl on his screen. He knew he had to take a leap of faith and send a message her way. Denise was touched by his carefully written words and was suddenly brimming with the sensation of butterflies for first time in forever. Best. Christmas present. Ever. After a month of exchanging messages, Denise and Richard decided it was finally time to meet in person. They met each other halfway for dinner and talked for hours. They were so consumed in their conversation and completely lost track of time. The restaurant was closing, and they basically had to be kicked out by their waitress. The night ended with a sweet exchange of hugs and eager anticipation for their next date. Denise and Richard ended up dating for a month before deciding to make it official, and the rest was history.

The Proposal

11.27.16

Fast forward 4 years later to what Denise believed to be her 25th birthday dinner with Richard. She walked into his apartment and found herself surrounded by candles and music. He had recreated the first meal she ever prepared for him – and bested her at that! After they finished their meal, Richard poured out his heart to Denise, listing all the things he loved about her and the plans he had for their future. Denise quickly realized that Richard might have been proposing in that moment, and her eyes quickly filled with happy tears. That was until he stood up, walked into the kitchen, and left her at the dinner table completely confused. A few moments passed and Richard returned with a small, black velvet box in his hands. Denise’s intuitions were proven correct when Richard got down on one knee, opened the box, and presented her with the most gorgeous ring she could ever dream of. Without any hesitation, Denise said yes and lept into Richard's arms, wholeheartedly agreeing to being his future bride. And now, after 4 years of a long-distance engagement, Richard and Denise will finally be tying the knot!
