*Mr.Mario, thank you for making Roobens go to Rudy's open house, Haitian's gotta support each other right?! Courtney and Roobens ended up at the same open house, and they sat at the same table. They had no idea that this casual conversation would turn into so much more. Before Courtney was about to leave, she told herself to gather up the courage to ask for Roobens number. She approached him, stood up straight and said, "It was nice to meet you." She turned around and walked home. Courtney frantically looked for Roobens on Facebook when she got home, but she could not find his profile. She thought she missed her chance. Luckily, Roobens had better detective skills and found Courtney on Facebook. Courtney sent the first wall post. Roobens sent the first message. The rest is history.
2017 was very eventful for Courtney and Roobens, Courtney graduated from Calvin College and Roobens completed his training with the FAA and fulfilled his dream of becoming an air traffic controller. Roobens' 2017 wouldn't be complete, however, without one special moment. Since Roobens was finally in town after a long time away, Courtney wanted to make some fun plans, like dinner with her parents, and double dates with her best friend Kayla. Roobens saw this as the perfect moment. At Frederick Meijer Garden, what Courtney thought was a double date, turned into the most unforgettable moment of her life. While taking some cute couples pictures, Roobens drops to one knee, in the snow, waiting for Courtney to turn around. Roobens waited patiently as Courtney cried and screamed for what felt like ten minutes, until she finally said, "YES!"
