The First Date!

The Beginning

Katelyn and Ron's first date was at Intelligentsia Coffee Shop in Pasadena, CA. Katelyn had just gotten her hair done, Ron remembered to comb his. They talked about cross-country travel, music, a little bit of politics, the beach. A Ramones exhibit had just sprouted up at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles. Ron mentioned he wanted to see it and Katelyn responded she had already been. Feeling bold, Ron said, "well, I hope you don't mind going a second time." It was smooth AF. Katelyn played it cool though. Their date continued to a second location, The Blind Donkey (named after several local members of Congress), where Katelyn got a sandwich before her shift started at LGO (Le Grande Orange, but the cool kids call it LGO). She asked Ron to eat her fries, which he was more than happy to accommodate. Ron walked Katelyn to her car so she could grab her stuff and then go to work. Ron told her that he "for sure wanted to see her again" and again she played it cool. Several months later, Ron saw that Ramones exhibit, Katelyn saw it for the second time.

Engagement

It was Lit Y'all...

Katelyn and Ron got engaged in Princes Street Gardens in Edinburgh, Scotland. They had just finished up a whiskey tour and caught some live music from this dude who, for whatever reason, didn't like Johnny Cash...Like it was strange, apparently singer magoo went to the US once and got tickets to a Cash show, and Johnny Cash was hammered and did a horrible job, and bro-heem has held a grudge ever since. Anyway, that was the day. Ron had been carrying around the ring for awhile at this point, neurotically checking it in his jacket pocket every 40 seconds or so. It for sure wasn't noticeable. Ron proposed by doing a reenactment of the Sound Of Music accompanied only by a bagpipe player named Butch. Onlookers looked on in intrigue and confusion through the costume changes and Butch's step-dancing. When it was over 4 hours later, Ron proposed and Katelyn was totes down. Some of this story isn't actually true.
