FAQs

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Black- Tie Attire or Nigerian Formal Wear. That means tuxedos and suits for men and gowns for women. We would prefer for all the guests to be in black but if needed, you may also dress in our wedding colors - lavender and sage. Please refrain from wearing white, off-white, or creams unless it is a white men’s dress shirt.

Question

Can I take pictures?

Answer

We are having an "unplugged ceremony" which means no phones or cameras. We would love for you to be fully present as we say "I do". We will have professionals capturing this magic moment for us and will share the photos with you as soon as we receive them. While your phone is expected to be silent and away during the ceremony, you are welcome to take as many photos/videos as you like during the reception!

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

While we would love to accommodate everyone, we have limited guests to those listed on the formal invitation and/or RSVP page. If you have a plus one, it will be specified on your invite or RSVP portal when you search your name. Thank you for your understanding!

Question

When time should I arrive?

Answer

The ceremony will begin punctually at 4 o'clock in the evening, please arrive no later than 3:50pm or you will sadly miss out on our ceremony. There is free parking on-site.

Question

Can I bring my kids?

Answer

Children make everything more special BUT our day will be for adults. We want you to be able to enjoy our complementary open-bar and evening fun so please make accommodations for your little ones. Children have been limited to the wedding party and will be specified on your invitation.

Question

What is the closest airport?

Answer

We recommend flying into Chicago O'hare Airport!

Question

I missed the RSVP deadline

Answer

While we will be sad to not have you present, we unfortunately cannot accommodate anyone who misses the RSVP deadline.

Question

How do I get to the venue?

Answer

It is a holiday weekend so the recommended hotels have shuttles to the venue but they might not be in service (don't rely on them as your mode of transportation). We suggest keeping your phone charged to use a rideshare service like Uber of Lyft. Another option would be renting a car however, if you plan on drinking, please be responsible and utilize local rideshares. There might be other guests interested in renting a vehicle so if you are looking to carpool and split costs, please reach out! There is parking on site. We are actively looking for shuttling options to the venue before the ceremony.

Question

I want to wear Nigerian clothes but don't know where to begin!

Answer

If you'd like to wear Nigerian attire, check out Pinterest for inspiration! Even Etsy has good options for purchase! If you need help with finding ideas or are curious about what is appropriate for our dress code, please reach out.

Question

Can we stay at your house?

Answer

While we would love to host everyone at the house, our home won't be open to any guests during the wedding weekend.
