Joshua Backhus
Groom
Here's the groom!! What a good looking guy, and wow that hair is to die for 😍 ! In all seriousness, Joshua is an amazing man, and more, one of the only people out there who can tolerate Mic in high doses (kudos to Josh). Josh is an absolutely amazing human being, and Mic is so blessed to have him as her forever person.
Deb Ronk
Mother of the Bride
Deb is Mic's mom, and she's been through a lot with Michaela (especially middle school aged Mic). She's been there for her for every hard time in Mic's life, every big decision, and lots of treasured memories. Deb is one of Mic's biggest supporters and is an amazing mother and role model for Mic. Thanks, Mom, for always talking things through with me and supporting me throughout my life and in every area of my life. Thank you for being a light in my life, love you!
Bruce Ronk
Father of the Bride
Bruce is Mic's dad, and the two have a history of butting heads and always trying to get the last word in small tufts. This is just one of the ways in which Bruce and Mic are similar, and another is their belching (if you know, you know). In all seriousness, Bruce has always known how to put a smile on Mic's face and lighten the mood. He is dependable, compassionate and thoughtful. Dad, thank you for always answering my calls and helping me get through life. Love you!
Amy Backhus
Mother of the Groom
Amy is Josh's mom, and she is a mechanical engineer, and she is part of what prompted Josh to pursue a similar career path. Amy is driven, loving, and selfless. She is an incredible mother to her four sons and is very involved in the worship team at Trinity Lutheran church. She is an avid referee and water skier. We love you!
Greg Backhus
Father of the Groom
Greg is Josh's dad. At work he leads he strives to lead his team using his Christian faith. He is also a outstanding father and role model to his sons. He is an avid soccer referee and water skier. We love you!
Katie Wendtland --> Merchun
Matron of Honor
This is Katie Wendtland, she's not married yet, but she will be June 15th (I can't wait!!!). I have known Katie since kindergarten (almost my whole life), and I am honored and blessed to have known her as long as I have. I love you, Katie, and I am so excited for you to be up there with me on my special day.
Emily Osowski
Maid of Honor
This here is Emily Osowski! She and I went to undergraduate school together, PA school together, and lived together for 4 years (she couldn't get rid of me;). Emily has been by my side a thousand times over, but I am especially excited for you to be up there by my side on my special day. Love you :)
Izzy Unger
Bridesmaid
This is Izzy! We went to all of grade school together, and we even used to live in the same neighborhood! Izzy has a spunk and a sense of humor like no other. Izzy, you have been an amazing friend all these years, and I am thrilled to have you in my wedding.
Jordan Bush

Pictured here is Jordan Bush. She is Mic's sorority little sister, and one of her greatest friends. Jordan is a nurse, and a damn good one at that. She is all the 'b's: bright and beautiful and badass! Love you long time, lit. Can't wait to see you up there with me:)
Makinni Kornak-Kotarba

Makinni is a friend of Mic's from high school. Makinni is currently in PA school, and she is killing it so far! Makinni has such a big heart, a strong will, and a bright mind. Makin, I am so happy to have you as one of my bridesmaids!
Keeli Kornak-Kotarba

Keeli and Mic also went to Rockford schools together. Keeli is in physical therapy school, and she is a damn hard worker. She is a genuine, down-to-earth human being. Keeli, I am so lucky to have you in my life, and I am grateful you are one of my bridesmaids.
Lindsey Herdsman

Lindsey is another high school friend of Mic. Lindsey is in graduate school studying speech pathology. Lindsey is compassionate, bubbly, and honest. Linds, I am honored that you will be standing up there with me on my wedding day!
Ethan Backhus
Best Man
Ethan is one of Josh's younger brothers, and he is the second oldest of the four. Ethan is a computer engineer and he lives in Florida. We are very excited for you to be the best Man of the wedding party!
Bryce Backhus
Groomsman
Bryce Backhus is the third oldest brother in the Backhus clan. He loves fishing and wakeboarding in the summer. Bryce has gone on several backpacking trips and continues training in preparation for joining the military. We are so happy to have you as a groomsman in our wedding!
Andrew Backhus
Groomsman
Andrew is Josh's youngest brother, and he is a senior in high school. He is looking to study engineering in college. He is an avid lifter and loves backpacking. We are thrilled to have you as a groomsman Andrew!
Bryce Ronk
Groomsman
Bryce Ronk is Michaela's younger brother. He is studying at Calvin university in hopes of going to physical therapy school after completing his Bachelor's degree. He, ironically, has the same spelling as Josh's brother Bryce, the two are the same age, and have birthdays only 9 days apart (crazy!). Bryce is exuberant, people-loving, talkative, kind, and charming. Bryce, we are so happy to have you as a groomsman! I bet you can't believe your sister is actually getting married (who saw that coming)! Love you little bro:)
Bradley Albritton
Groomsman
Bradley is one of Josh's friends in Detroit. They met 3 years ago when they both first started working for general motors as engineers in the TRACK program. Since then, Bradley and Josh have grown closer as friends, and Brad has gotten to know Mic as well. He has spent time with Josh and Mic and seen their relationship through the years, and he's one of their biggest supporters. We are so excited to have Bradley in the wedding party. We love you, Bradley!
Korey Mertz
Groomsman
Korey is one of Josh's friends from college. The two studied mechanical engineering together and have many memories studying for exams and working on projects and homework assignments together. They also share countless memories from Valpo unrelated to academics. Since graduating, they have remained close, and we are thrilled Korey will be up there on our big day!
Emory Craft
Groomsman
Emory is one of Josh's friends from Detroit. He also works for general motors as an engineer. Emory has not lived there as long as Josh, but the two have become close friends. Emory is a kind, caring, and ambitious human, and we are so lucky to have met him and to have him in our wedding.
Taylor Anderson
Mistress of Ceremony
Taylor is Mic's cousin, and she has been one of Mic's role models in Mic's life. Taylor is a strong, independent woman. She is an amazing mother to her son (soon to be son and daughter). Taylor, I am so lucky to have had you as a cousin growing up, thank you for teaching me about life and spending time with me despite our age difference, love you cuz!
