We're Getting Married!

First comes school, then comes marriage It all started on a Friday evening at Joey's fraternity house at Illinois State University. There was a party with Joey's fraternity and Roni's sorority. Roni spotted a funny (cute) boy dancing and singing by himself to a Brittany Spears song (alcohol involved). She thought it was hilarious, so she approached him and recorded him embarrassing himself. Joey then introduced himself and it took off from there. Joey made a big mistake by lying and saying he was a senior, when he really was a junior. Still to this day, he doesn't know why he lied. He was just trying to impress this beautiful lady. That was Roni's and Joey's first fight. However, she quickly forgave him. Towards the end of the night, he offered to walk her home and on the way, they stopped at a local diner for cheese fries and a shake. Unfortunately, the diner was packed and they were never served. Joey then dropped Roni off at her dorm and asked her the next day if she would like to "hang out sober sometime." A month later (October 16, 2015) after several dates, Joey asked Roni to date. She initially said "no." After some convincing and praying, she finally said "yes." They spent the remaining of their college years together and are currently going on 6 happy years!

We planned a vacation to Arizona for Roni's Spring Break and Joey knew that it was time. He bought the ring a few months prior and somehow kept it secret the whole time. Leading up to the vacation, he slowly broke the news to her parents and his close family. Their overwhelming support made this process so much easier for him. In preparation for the moment, Joey hired a secret professional photographer to meet them at the Horseshoe Bend in Arizona. He knew she would cherish this moment forever and wanted to make sure it was absolutely perfect. On the day of, he made sure that she wore a nice sundress so she would end up liking the pictures. As they found a perfect spot at the bend, Joey made sure the photographer was ready and that his camera was recording and started his speech. Roni was extremely emotional, especially as Joey got down on one knee. This time, she said "YES" the first time. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. Pack your bags, we are going to Mexico!
