the best is yet to come

For Roni, it all started at the gym. A pretty girl with her white blonde hair in a high ponytail walks by and smiles at him while he's in between sets at the bench press. He saw her squatting heavy and knew he had to talk to her. For Christine, it all started at Islands where she worked as a server. Roni and his friends had come in after a day of snowboarding, and she happened to be helping drop off food at their table. She recognized his friends at the table from the gym and said hi, and laid her eyes on him for the first time. A few days later, Roni sees Christine at the gym, as he has many times before, but this time is different. He's going to go up to her and introduce himself. While he's stretching and mustering up the courage, she beats him to the punch coming right over and hitting him with the "Hey, I'm the girl from Islands!". They chat briefly, and then continue on with their workouts. Roni plans to talk with her at the gym again soon but they don't cross paths again for another couple weeks... Finally, a day comes where they are both at the gym at the same time and he starts up another conversation while she's finishing up with the squat rack. This time, the hello leads to a 30 minute conversation in the middle of the gym where they find out they go to the same university, have some of the same interests, and totally hit it off. He asks for her snapchat (lol) and they continue talking over the next month until he finally asks her out on a date. January 26, 2018 Roni picks Christine up for a mini-golf date followed by dinner. They literally talk nonstop from the minute he picks her up to the evening when he drops her off. He bets that if he beat her in mini-golf he would win a kiss, which he did... And then plants his car keys in his jacket he puts around her so when she hands them to him he grabs ahold of her hand... She may or may not have already been falling in love with his cheesy yet charming vibe. A month later Christine asks the classic "What are we??" and Roni goes "You've been my girlfriend since the first date." The rest is history. Yes, one date was all it took. Roni and Christine have been through a whirlwind over the past 6 years. Roni was right by Christine's side as she moved out for the first time, graduated from undergrad, worked multiple jobs at once to get experience for graduate school, went through the hardships of becoming a PA, and finally got into her career working in pediatrics. Christine was by Roni's side as he took his first ever plane ride with her to Cabo, graduated with his computer science degree, bought his first rental property during the pandemic, started his first job as a software engineer for Northrop Grumman. They have been with each other through the highest high's and the lowest low's, never faltering in their foundational friendship and deep love for one another. What a wild ride it has been, but the best is yet to come ~
