Back in 1988, I was a high school cheerleader, who didn't know I was cheering for my future husband, and then Captain of the football team. I was a Sophomore, and Ron was a Junior, where we had 1 class together, French. Ron was always such a gentleman, a genuine "nice" young man. He was very respectable, smart, handsome, athletic, and a lyricist. I was new to the school, and became active in cheer and other clubs, so I could meet people and make new friends. We never dated, but would years later connect on Social Media and occasionally "like" a post or comment on each other's photos. Fast forward to 2020, when everyone was stuck at home. Ron was on Social Media and saw a picture of my Grandson and I. He messaged me and offered his congratulations. Throughout the pandemic, we would periodically check in with each other while living our own lives. At the end of the year, we decided to meet in a neutral part of the country, no strings attached. It was on the last night of that trip that Ron asked me to be his "girlfriend". We didn't know how this would work; I was all the way in the Northeast, and Ron was across the country in the Pacific Northwest. We couldn't have been farther from each other. But when it's time for two souls to meet, nothing can prevent it no matter where they are! I packed up and headed out west and took the biggest leap of faith, ever! And we've been inseparable ever since. Our journey has been one full of life, laughter and LOVE. We have had quite the ride, but there's no one I'd rather travel this road with. I have often told Ron that my heart was locked and sealed, yet he managed to unlock, unseal and only he holds the key to my heart. We intend to live out loud while pursuing our God-given dreams, TOGETHER.
