What started as just two people saying “hey” across the bowling lanes turned into the sweetest love story. Zak and I first crossed paths at Bowlero in Norco, where I was working as a lane server and he bowled in the Tuesday night league. I’d see him every week, we’d exchange a quick smile or a wave, but that was about it. The one time we actually talked, he bought me a shot and we cheered, nothing more came of it though. Fast forward to November 2023, after I’d left the league, a friend asked me to sub for her team one night. It felt so good to see everyone again, and the next week, Zak’s team just so happened to need a fourth bowler… so I joined. We became fast friends, texting every day, and little by little he started asking me out. The first time, I said no. The second time? Still no. (Don’t ask why. I really don’t know what I was thinking!) But he didn’t give up. On his third try, he told me it was the last time he’d ask, and thanks to a little push from mama, I finally said yes. That night we had sushi, and it just felt… right. Comfortable. Easy. Like I’d known him forever. I even came home and told mama, “He’s the one.” And here we are, still proving that sometimes the best love stories take a little persistence… and maybe a few strikes and spares. ❤️🎳
