Absolutely not! Please do not bring gifts. We cannot stress this enough. All we want is to invite everyone to celebrate with us.
After nearly four years of marriage, we are completing the process to get married in the Catholic Church. Marcus is Catholic and we always planned to get married in the Catholic Church. However, after Rachel's mom passed away shortly after our first wedding, we had to delay the process with the Catholic Church. Life got busy, but now we are so excited to celebrate again with friends and family and renew our love in the sacrament of marriage. We also hoped to have another reception due to our initial wedding being a COVID-esque wedding. So, aside from our second ceremony, we are looking forward to another reception that allows us to spend more time with those that have supported us over the years.
Convalidation comes from the Latin word meaning “to firm up” or “to strengthen.” In the Catholic Church, when a couple has been civilly married and then gets married again in the Catholic tradition, it is called "convalidation." Because Marcus and I were civilly married first, our marriage sacrament in the Catholic Church is through the convalidation process.
For sure! This wedding will be pretty laid back, early in the afternoon, and family style, so we would love to see your kiddos.
