We "swiped right" on each other in early 2018 (#ThanksTinder!) and spent a no more than few days chatting before Matt confidently suggested we go out on a proper date (which, for the record, I LOVED because if you've online dated, you know the struggle). By the following Tuesday, April 24, 2018, the two of us had plans to meet up for tacos & drinks at Leo's downtown. I was 10 minutes late (as always) and by the time I stepped out of my uber, Matt had a pint of Pacifico waiting for me on the table and greeted me with the most genuine smile, those deep kind eyes that I have grown to adore sparkling with a hint of something special. We talked for nearly an hour before we even ordered food, and continued the night with a trip to The Blind Donkey where I hustled him in darts, and we shared our first kiss. We had our second date on Thursday morning, and I met a handful of his closest friends that Friday night. It felt like the most natural friendship ever forged, and we have been nearly inseparable ever since. We spent three years building a home and a life together in Long Beach, and Matt proposed on April 24, 2021, at one of our favorite places, the ACE Hotel in Palm Springs. The three-year-anniversary of our first date now has an even more special memory to celebrate, and we can't wait to spend our wedding day celebrating with all of YOU!!
